Ep. 5: Shanna Tellerman, CEO of Modsy
What is the best advice that you have ever received?
To go to art school. I was so worried about whether an art degree was the right choice but my parents encouraged me to follow my passion and not worry too soon about the career path it would lead to. I'm so glad I listened since it turned into an amazing career journey!
What is a Quote / Philosophy that serves as guide?
“The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” -- Randy Pausch
Can you share what has been one of your secrets for success?
I'm not sure it's a secret really, I believe in hard work. I had a coach tell me once that there are no shortcuts to excellence so don't cut corners and I follow that mantra. You really can't take a shortcut to success. You simply have to dig deep, work hard every day, not get too down on yourself when things go wrong and aim to make small progress every day.
